Integrations
Recognition and AI should stay replaceable.
Sign First is designed as an adapter layer: recognition candidates enter, confirmed intent leaves, and institution-selected models can change without replacing learner authority.
09 / Provider neutrality
The durable product is the interaction contract—not exclusive access to one model.

Recognizer adapters
Accept candidates without calling them truth.
The current research bridge and browser-local fingerspelling specialist expose bounded candidates and abstention behavior. Neither is represented as reliable universal ASL translation.
Language models
Send confirmed academic intent—not raw recognition.
The controlled route currently demonstrates Google Vertex Gemini. OpenAI, Anthropic, or other providers are architectural candidates, not claimed live integrations unless implemented and tested.
Connector surface
One assurance contract can serve multiple interfaces.
The repository includes an MCP route and integration-session boundary. Public connector listing and third-party review remain separate future work.
